Moisturize and Protect your Skin for Help with Acne
One of the things people do that actually makes acne worse is they do not use moisturizer. They are under the mistaken thought that their skin is already oily, so why add more oil to it?
Well, what is happening is that your skin is so dry it cannot function properly (like smile or bend) and so to help it be more pliable your skin produces oil. Yes! Your skin is trying to add more moisture so it produces oil. If you were to just add a bit of moisturizer each morning and before you go to bed your skin would be very happy and hydrated! It would help keep the oily slick away – and the acne associated with the oil.
Retinol will help with Acne
By added a moisturizer with retinol you can help keep the appearance of acne minimal. Retinol speeds cell turnover which prevents clogged pores and at the same time reduces the appearance of fine lines. Use this sparingly though as it might thin out your skin too much. More is not better. Follow the instructions on your moisturizer with retinol and/or consult your dermatoligist for the right balance for your skin.
Our skin needs help with acne problems from time to time. The weather changes, or you might have a hormonal breakout. As the environment changes, be sure to change up your skincare routine and add more or less hydration as needed. Keep your pillow case clean (free of pet danders, too!) and watch out for overhead fans that can steal your skin of needed moisture overnight as they dry out the air.
